Butterfly

Everything is Growing

We were adopted by a very cute kitten a couple of weeks ago. We call him Button.

Our fennel and parsley plants were literally covered with swallowtail and monarch caterpillars this spring, and I have already begun seeing many butterflies in the gardens.

There are lots of blooms in the gardens, but I haven’t seen many bees. There have been lots of skippers and moths though.

  1. What a cute kitten. Button is a perfect name. 🙂

That’s pretty cool to have so many butterfly caterpillars. My son keeps checking our milkweed for some caterpillars, but so far not much luck.

BTW, the Hill Country view from your garden is lovely!

  2. Dawn, Thanks so much for the comments and for stopping by. It has been a splendid spring and early summer here with all the rain and moderate temperatures. I have hardly had time for blogging!

    Take care.

  3. That’s an impressive number of caterpillars you’ve got there. Your garden must be filled with butterflies…or soon will be.

  4. I have actually had very few butterflies this summer. We certainly had far more caterpillars in our garden this spring than we have ever had before, so I am not sure why we have had so few butterflies. Perhaps it has to do with all the rain. Or maybe things will pick up in the fall when the weather cools.

Nice look on your new WordPress site. You have a great blog. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.
