Babies are Being Born Every Day in the Nursery

The seeds have been germinating for less than two weeks, and many of them are already well along. I keep planting a flat every day or so, so the production should continue throughout the growing season. I am pleased with production so far, especially considering that my old seedstarting mats aren’t working and I am still waiting on the new ones I ordered (probably why the tomatoes and peppers are kind of slow to emerge). Take a look at the pix below.

  1. Hello Carol,

Thank you for coming to my garden blog and commenting – and letting me know you’re also gardening here in Central Texas and have this cool garden blog. Is Lost Valley Gardens a retail nursery, or so you grow these seedlings for local Austin nurseries?
Personally, I don’t think that that there can ever be too much basil.

  2. Hey Annie,

Thanks so much for visiting my blog & for the nice comment!

Lost Valley Gardens includes landscaping and a nursery. The nursery mostly supplies plants for our landscaping customers at this point, and I am considering talking to some of the local nurseries. But I am pretty much open to growing plants for anyone that wants them. We have a 1400 sq ft greenhouse, and several outdoor growing areas where I test new varieties and collect seeds, etc.

You have a beautiful garden BTW – can’t wait to see your spring pictures.

    Take Care – Carol

  3. I found your blog through the comment you left at The Transplantable Rose. It is wonderful to see things growing in other places, while I sit here in the snow midwest. I’m bookmarking your blog to come back for more visits!

  4. CarolM,

Thanks for visiting. I’m glad that my blog was able to shed a little ‘spring’ into your long, cold, midwestern winter. Please do come back. I very much enjoyed my short visit to your blog today. I will be visiting you often as well.

    Stay safe and warm.
