We went from a record high 89 degrees to 50 degrees in about two hours on Wednesday afternoon. The rain is forecast to commence late this afternoon, and then to continue all weekend, and the temperatures are going to stay in the 40s. Brrrr.

The work on the front yard project is moving along nicely. We, I should really say Ron, have all the rock placed for the four main planting beds; the front bed (surrounding the front porch), the north bed and south bed, and the bed on the west side of the courtyard that runs along the front of the house. The next job is to fill all these beds with the Geo Growers soil that was delivered late Wednesday, which will commence today.

I’m spending alot of time looking through Texas Gardener magazines, native landscaping books, and water gardening books gathering ideas for plants, bed planting designs, and water features. There are so many possibilities!

Full View from Driveway

Front Bed Surrounding Porch

View of North and South Beds

Second View of North and South Beds

View of West Bed Along Front of House

Hope you are having a wonderful holiday weekend.

Stay safe and warm.

The cold weather has finally arrived, just in time for Thanksgiving.
