We have had a couple of mornings in the 40s this past week, which feels pretty brisk first thing in the morning, but by 9 am it is already getting warm.<\/p>\n<p>I was out harvesting jalapenos and tomatoes for salsa-making this afternoon when I encountered this praying mantis.<\/p>\n<div class=\"captionfull\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/lostvalleygardens.com\/LVGblog\/imageshome\/praying_mantis.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Praying Mantis<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The fall garden harvest has been very bountiful this year. The fritillaries love the persian carpet zinnias. I placed a table and chair set that I inherited from my mother in the courtyard to one side of the fountain.
