Garden Roses

Caldwell Pink RoseCaldwell Pink Rose

I spied a butterfly on a parsley plant this morning, but by the time I grabbed my camera and got out to the herb and vegetable gardens to take some pictures of it he was no where to be found. So I took the opportunity to take a few pix of the Caldwell Pink rose near the arbor in the front courtyard area. This rose is growing like gang busters and is blooming profusely.

I like the combination of the purple heart and the Caldwell Pink. The purple seems to highlight the pink blooms.

All of the roses in this section of the planting are filling in nicely. I have started to train the New Dawn rose onto the arbor. The blackfoot daisy is getting established, and the knock outs and the aforementioned Caldwell Pink complete this area.

The hot red of the knockouts combined with the pink and purple is working pretty well together. I think I need something to tie it all together, but I’m not sure what just yet.

The red passionvine is really taking off. No blooms yet, but I love the dark green leaves.

Moon FlowerMoon Flower at Courtyard Entrance

I planted the moon flower seeds that Nancy [1] gave us at the Garden Bloggers Spring Fling at the front entrance to the courtyard. They are looking great. I can’t wait to have large fragrant blooms on them.

Praying for some rain here.
Cheers.
