Front Yard Project: Part 2

Removal of the primrose hedge on the east side of the house is moving along quickly. It is surprising how much of a difference it makes to the view of the front yard from the house to have this hedge gone. Even though I tried to keep this hedge well trimmed, these plants grow so large so quickly that they were completely obstructing the view of the yard from inside of the house (Of course there wasn’t much to see in the front yard up until now so it wasn’t that big a concern.)

The hedge was transplanted on one of the birms at the entrance to the property. The first view is from the driveway, and the second view is from behind the birm.

We had another eight tons of rocks delivered yesterday, so we are ready to rock in more raised beds.

Eowen is not pleased about the removal of the hedge. She likes to hang out on the wall under the hedge on hot afternoons. She also likes to lurk under the hedge and lunge out at unsuspecting victims. I have tried to reassure her that she is going to like the new yard, but she isn’t convinced yet.
