Planting Pansies

We had a cloud burst early in the morning this morning which yielded about an eighth of an inch of rain, and made the conditions perfect for planting the three flats of pansies and violas that I got yesterday. I planted some in pots and some in my raised beds.

I have many tomatoes left from the spring that are still producing really well. The Money Maker and heirloom below are examples. The plants that I put in in late summer are also doing nicely. (See the Big Beef tomato below.)

My snap peas are starting to come up alongside some volunteer green beans.

I have only one viable squash so far, but it is a nice one.

Sunset was beautiful yesterday.

We are starting a landscaping project in our front yard this weekend. I will be taking pictures of that project as it develops.

Do you cover your peas? What veggies would do well from seed, planted now in your area?
Thanks,

Wendi – I will cover the peas when it gets below 30 degrees. They are extremely cold tolerant, especially if well mulched.

Now is the perfect time to plant these veggies (seeds or plants) here; spinach, swiss chard, kale, chinese cabbage, lettuce, beets, garden peas, carrots, radishes, mustard greens, turnips.
